We’re Glad You’re Part of the Family

It takes a lot to raise a circus kid. It takes a lot of time and resources and love and support. It takes the strength to believe in a child’s dreams and the persistence to help those dreams become reality. It takes an ability to encourage and challenge as needed, and the wisdom to know what balance is needed at any given time.
And it helps to have a bit of whimsy and circus spirit yourself! Recently Judy Gaeth and I had the great opportunity to gather with a group of alumni parents in the Boston area.
Since Circus Smirkus is now in its 32nd year(!), we have a wonderful group of Tour and Camp alumni who are doing amazing things in the world both within and outside circus. Many of our dedicated alumni parents remain involved with Smirkus well after their children have graduated out of Smirkus Camp and the Big Top Tour, because they have seen the incredible impact Circus Smirkus has had on their children.
They have seen their kids grow in confidence, learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and learn to meet life’s challenges with a smile (and frequently a backflip!) These parents are so generous with their time and ongoing support of Smirkus, and we are grateful that they choose to remain part of our Smirkus family, along with their alumni offspring.
Whatever your relationship to Smirkus, as you read this, we’re glad you are part of the Smirkus family as well. For 32 years we have been blessed to have a strong network of supporters who believe in our mission, and we’re so grateful for all of you.
