On the Cusp
Dear Smirkus Family and Friends,
With the outset of our first performance fast approaching, just nine days away from the 2015 Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour Opening Weekend, with our first show on June 28, here in Greensboro, the Troupers are more focused than ever. Known in the Smirko world as the toughest week, we are closing up the second week of rehearsal just beautifully, looking forward to the annual Banquet on Saturday night. Each routine is beginning to reach “act-ness,” the term we use when things just start coming together and we start to see the performance shine through. With awe, I have seen these hardworking Troupers take the vision of our Artistic Director, Jesse Dryden, and the inspiration of the incredible Smirkus coaches and make it come into fruition. I truly cannot wait to see the reactions from all of you when we hit the road.
In other news, we had reporter Alyson Campbell, from the Times Argus, a Montpelier and Barre, VT local publication, out to capture the 2015 Big Top Tour rehearsals in preparation for our Montpelier shows August 9-12.

In addition, Trouper Wesley Williams and past Trouper Ella Warner will be on America’s Got Talent on Tuesday, June 23rd at 8PM performing as “The One Wheel Wonders”! So be sure to catch it on your local NBC station!
